Where to get help

Care and support ranges from equipment aids to adaptations for your home and full residential care. We have a wide range of daily living aids and care and support services.

However, there are local services available to give you more choice in your personal care plan. These services can provide you with complementary advice and support.

Some community resources that may be able to help are:

  • Age UK Isle of Wight – focuses to keep you well, independent and improve your quality of life. It enables the individual and helps your family, friends, or carers to support you
  • Butterflies Bereavement Support Service – offers counselling and support group services to people dealing with the death of a loved one, loneliness and isolation
  • Carers IW – provides services for carers on the Isle of Wight and offers support and advocacy to adults who look after another adult. Services are free and confidential
  • Citizens Advice Bureau – offers advice for carers and how to get support
  • Isle Help – provides information and advice on a wide range of community support services
  • Living Well – provides early prevention, self-help and empowers you to manage your own health and wellbeing through the Living Well approach
  • Mountbatten Isle of Wight – supports people who have life-limiting conditions, such as dementia, motor-neurone disease, heart failure, increasing frailty and more. They focus on physical, emotional, spiritual, and practical needs
  • People Matter IW – offers advice on the services available across the island. It focuses on keeping people independent in their own homes for as long as possible and welcomes anyone with support needs. People Matter offer services through the Independent Living Centre
  • The Way Forward Programme – provides training and employment for people 18 years of age and over living on the Island with autism and other disabilities.

If none of these options suit your needs, we can start the assessment process with you.
